Although a full-time architect, Octavio Pinto took piano lessons from the renowned pianist Isidor Philipp, and also married the Brazilian pianist Guiomar Novaes. The set Scenas Infantis was inspired by his watching the children at play, according to Novaes. This set for four hands at two pianos was an original arrangement by the composer.
